Yellow Scope

Yellow Scope

In 4th grade, most girls say they like science. But by the 8th grade, the numbers drop dramatically as girls lose interest and confidence in science. This trend continues beyond school. Although women make up half of the total workforce, they make up only a quarter of the jobs in science and technology fields. Yellow Scope aims to change the trend!Screen Shot 2018-11-06 at 10.02.55 AM unnamed 2Yellow Scope (www.yellow-scope.com) was founded by scientists and moms, Marcie Colledge, Ph.D. and Kelly McCollum, MPH. They met volunteering at their daughters’ school, running family STEM programs. Yellow Scope grew out of their shared passion for science, education, and closing the gender gap in science. They want to inspire girls to explore their world and discover all its amazing possibilities!

Science before sparkles! The science kits are engaging and creative. They’re chock-full of real science and there’s plenty of room for girls to draw their observations, doodle their ideas, and design their very own experiments.

Three exciting science kits are available that will provide hours of critical thinking while having fun! These include NEW Paper Chromatography: The Art & Science of Color, Foundation Chemistry: Beakers & Bubbles and Acids, Bases & pH Chemistry: Explore Your World.
