In 4th grade, most girls say they like science. But by the 8th grade, the numbers drop dramatically as girls lose interest and confidence in science. This trend continues beyond school. Although women make up half of the total workforce, they make up only a quarter of the jobs in science and technology fields. Yellow Scope aims to change the trend!
Yellow Scope (www.yellow-scope.com) was founded by scientists and moms, Marcie Colledge, Ph.D. and Kelly McCollum, MPH. They met volunteering at their daughters’ school, running family STEM programs. Yellow Scope grew out of their shared passion for science, education, and closing the gender gap in science. They want to inspire girls to explore their world and discover all its amazing possibilities!
